1983 July 17 welcomed the start of what continues to be the passion and heartbeat of Pastor Clarence Adam, the birth of the Shekinah Assembly of God Church. What started as a humble beginning, of just 4 people, has turned into an ocean of people today. The passion and eagerness came under much  oppression and discouragement and being let down by people who promised to stand by till the end.

 

The church was started in a small rented building. The rent was so high that Pastor and his wife had to sacrifice their meals sometimes to pay the rent to have another Sunday morning worship. Through the trials and temptation, Pastor stood faithful to the call that was placed in his life. In one year, the church grew from 4 to 40 members. The new church (present) was constructed in the year 1992. From then God started to shake the city of Sivakasi through this ministry. Now over 500 people come to worship Jesus at the Shekinah Assembly of God with more than four branches around the city, which are growing by the efforts of associate pastors.
